Lockets is a good description of the boiled sweet (and sweet) notes I get. Obviously too sweet in the mouth with a gloopy texture and more honey.Quite warming to be fair but sweet as **** hughie (3076), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 24, 2008 From the tap at the Wine Bar at Peterborough BF ’08. Gold. Aroma of proprietory cough linctus with a pleasant honey sweetness. Sweet taste becomes a trifle cloying, with just a hint of citrus sourness. Not really my thing, but it came as a welcome change after a run of hoppy golden ales. Difficult to rate fairly. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 4, 2005 Bottle at London gathering, November 2005. Purchased from Hop Pocket Wine Company. mead is a real problem for me. I’m sure I’d like them if I could find one that was a bit dryer. This one has an overwhelming honey aroma and a massively sweet and sticky mouthfeel. Just as well Ii had plenty of people to share the bottle with me as a couple of sips is plenty for me. They still left me with half a bottle to deal with. Quite handy as a base for a meat marinade.

Despite the fact I like honey and can appreaciate the honey aspect this was far too sweet to work well as a drink for me Joeh (1908), Buckinghamshire, England

But I have a feeling that only Silk and I will agree on that. Beautiful deep copper colour with no head. Lovely nutty honey, nougat aroma. Really good buttery caramel in mouth, with a touch of herb. Sweet in mouth with more nuts and toffee/butter. Could have curled up with the rest of the bottle and an open fire and got sozzled.
