Cask @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.
Clear medium to dark brown color with a small to average, frothy, good - fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, nutty, moderate hoppy, grass. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, a peppery - alcoholic finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20090805]

Cask conditioned at The Royal Blenheim, Oxford. Brown, ruby with white head. Sweet, malty fruity flavours with hints of sawdust in the background. Quite heavy on the palate with a golden syrup type note, but otherwise ok.

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 6 Aug 2009) Dark brown colour with brief, beige head. Malty nose with dark fruit, raisins and chocolate. Malty, fruity taste with notes of raisins, dark fruit and a long, bittersweet finish. More than medium body, fairly sweet. Vey nice beer.
