Finn (1072), Tromsø, Norway Jan 23, 2008 On tap 30 Jun 07. Dark, dark brown. Almost black. No head. Weak aroma. Burned roasted flavor with a similar flavor. Too weak to be a proper porter. Sigmund (1900), Hafrsfjord, Norway Jan 8, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. ABV was said to be 4.7%. Black colour, dark ruby in the highlights, low head. Moderate roasty aroma, notes of chocolate. Roasty flavour, nice but fairly mellow, notes of chocolate but fairly dry. Good, but too "modest" in its touch. Ole_R (1167), Oslo, Norway Jan 8, 2008 On tap @ the brewpub. Dark brown to near black with a ruby hue. A thin layer of foam covering the surface. Weak aroma of dry roasted dark malts. Whiffs of chocolate. Quite dry roasty maltiness in the flavor. A fine hopbitterness all the way to the finish. Surprisingly light-bodied. Not bad, but a little bland and neutral. Comments: Rather timid roast character in this cerealic porter that stays sweetish and feels oatmeal-like on top of its tartish coffee undertones. Quite good.
KnutAlbert (2165), Oslo, Norway Oct 22, 2007 Dark red. Lovely liquorice aroma, and it has a full liquoricy flavour, too. Long finish, a hint of sourness. Very good, but a stonger version would probably be even better.
OVerall, I am very impressed by the consistently hight standard of their beers.
