jdub1985 (3), USA does not count Mar 7, 2007 Mac and Jacks rocks my socks. My only gripe is that you cant buy it in the store, otherwise it is all I would drink. rm0312 (36), Idaho, USA Mar 6, 2007 Updated: Mar 9, 2007First tried this on tap at Boston’s in Spokane, WA (Valley Mall) with a pizza. I had never heard of it at that point so I had no preconceived notions. I was very pleased with every aspect - dark brown color, hoppy aroma and taste, great finish and goes well with several foods. I have had it since at Safeco Field - it even went well in a plastic cup (something I try to avoid with any drink). Great beer...one of my favorite ambers. JJClark (545), Roscoe, Illinois, USA Feb 15, 2007 On tap at the Sheraton Hotel Downtown Seattle. Has a nice rich hazy amber color with a medium off white head. Aroma of herbs, spices and malt with a hint of hops.Taste is smooth and well balanced with a flavor of caramel and floral undertones. Finishes sightly sweet from the maltyness.Very nice beer. I will be drinking more of his. AlabastorJones (762), San Francisco, California, USA Feb 11, 2007 golden/brown body, big rocky tan head, brown sugar and sweet malt nose, flavor is a mess of vanilla, brown sugar, butterscotch, sweet malts and assorted spices, great complex amber with character duffman462 (160), Gainesville, Florida, USA Jan 30, 2007 Updated: Apr 2, 2007I love this beer. Can’t believe it’s taken me so long to get around to rating it. I can only get it on tap, so this is from (drunken) memory, but I recall a long and recessed hop profile. A lot of nuttiness in the nose and flavor, with some grapefruit hops, which are counter-balanced by some very nice toffee malt. Extremely well balanced....I think I may buy a keg and let it chill in my bathtub. Forget showers.... improvjock (93), Namegata-shi, Ibaraki-ken, Japan Jan 17, 2007 It’s a shame this beer can only be found on tap, but if it were bottled I’d probably go broke! Sweet and carmally with a hint of citrus makes. I always order this beer if it is available and nothing new looks interesting. Treephiend (57), Walla Walla, Washington, USA Jan 7, 2007 TAP - red cloudy amber, quickly diminishing head, no lacing. Very tasty hoppy, but not bitter at all, pretty sweet with strong hints of spices that I can’t put my finger on. More like a holiday ale in that way I guess... Anyway, superior amber ale a must taste! beer4bfast (6), snoqualmie, Washington, USA does not count Dec 31, 2006 makes a point of tasting overly sweet. Better Amber’s finish clean and do not coat your mouth in sugat
