Smooth in the mouth, with honey and clover dancing with caramel and lightly roasted almonds. A very enjoyable brew. This is one of the most unique beers you will ever taste. I work at a restaurant and recommend this beer to everyone and I always get great reactions. troopie (867), USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 12, 2006 Hazy gold with a white head. Faint hoppy aroma, possibly served too cold. Fine flavour, midway between an India and an English. This is another ale that Hennie would term a Cape ale. Finish a little bland, becoming fuller as the ale warmed. terapenguin (11), USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 4, 2006 Typically has a nice hop aroma profile -- somewhat peppery. Varies from batch to batch, in my experience. Very slightly sweet. jasper5150 (1), Maple Valley, Washington, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Sep 20, 2006 One of the best beers I have had in a while. Its cloudiness has some mystery within. An abundance of flavor that is not overpowering. Smooth to the tongue.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 17, 2006 Draft at El Corazon. Pours a cloudy amber with a lacy white head, although the lighting at El Corazon makes visual inspection a challenge. Aroma of citrus and floral hops with nutty malt. The taste is lightly sweet with nuts, toffee, oranges and a bit of apricot. Nice round flavor with a clean finish. The one decent brew in the Seattle area that consistently shows up on taps amid the Bud and Miller offerings at bars that don’t cater to beer geeks. asteele8 (270), Mukilteo, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 23, 2006 On tap. Pours a cloudy orange-brown with a small white head. Aroma is mostly of malt. Flavor is primarily malty also with hints of hops in there to help balance it out. Pretty smooth beer, enjoyable. Delirium (497), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 16, 2006 Draught. Pours unfiltered orange-brown with a medium white head. Aroma is a light honey sweetness with a malt backbone and a hint of crisp hops. Flavor is similar but with a bit more of the hops. Light bitterness. A pretty unique amber ale; sort of a cross between a typical amber ale and an American pale ale. A bit of a ratings bonus for originality.
