mooser42 (2), Washington, USA does not count Jan 19, 2005 I love it! Everywhere I go I check to see if they have Jacks on tap! Great dark appearance and great flavor Hooker (450), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada Dec 12, 2004 Cloudy light amber colour. good head that fades quickly to thin. pungent citric nose. flat hoppy taste with fruity overtones motelpogo (4394), Plzen, Czech Republic Dec 6, 2004 on tap at the virginia inn in seattle. pretty amber but otherwise has too much character to be considered an amber ale. aroma of caramel and pineapple turnover. nice combination of nutty toffee flavours and fruity bitterness skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA Nov 27, 2004 Purchased from K’s in Bellevue by the gallon
This is a solid not-to-offend-anyone ale, that was a hit for our thanksgiving festivities. The aroma is sour, with some decent English malts. The hops were muted, and *i think* unbalanced for the style. The head was creamy and the palate was soft. Flavor was fruity and sessionable. Hab40oz (242), Grants Pass, Oregon, USA Oct 21, 2004 Citrousy malty aroma, nice medium dark amber. Thin, but creamy head. Awesome Apricot taste. And amazingly balanced hops and malts. More malty than most American Ambers, guess that why its African, maybe! beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Oct 20, 2004 This is a great brew even though i still think its more of an APA than an amber. Very fruity apricot hop aroma, citrusy and crisp. Pours orange amber with a soft white head. Taste starts very fruity with a light bitterness to balance well in the finish, citrusy hops that bring out an apricot flavor. A light carbonation keeps this brew creamy and smooth. A very drinkable brew. IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 6, 2004 On Tap at Old Chicago, cloudy redish amber with a good creamy head and heavy lacing. Aroma was very busy, floral, citrus and hops. Fairly sweet flavor with fruity, apricots and apple cider notes. Fairly hopy and the ABV seemed a little high. Very tasty and a bit unusual. Feel was moderately smooth and the aftertaste was a very subtle bitter woody flavor. Quite good.
arhythmt (69), USA Sep 28, 2004 The go-to beer at Seattle-area bars. Available only on tap, this beer is amazing when you first try one. Tremendous floral and fruit scents, very sweet but also hoppy, easy to drink a few pints in rapid succession. I think I’m a bit burned out on Mac and Jack’s by now, though, after hundreds of pints of the stuff.
