One of the Big Three from Seattle, the other two being Bhagwan’s Best IPA and Hale’s Pale Ale. Hands down the best amber ale on the planet. Amazingly creamy (no doubt because it is unpasteuzized) and sweet, with a masterful hop balance. It will be a great day when this beer is bottled for store sales. As it is, if you are Washington State, priority number one should be finding this beer on tap. The best kept secret in brewing, and one of the ten best in the world.

On draft at the Virgina Inn in Seattle. An "energy" beer if there ever was one. One sip of this, and I felt like I was getting my spinach, special K, and protein drink all in one. Yeastier than a hefeweizen (my, i love unfiltered beers), with a big licorice and caramel middle that finishes with delightful hop bite. Bring this beer back East!

Draught. Pours unfiltered orange-brown with a medium white head. Aroma is a light honey sweetness with a malt backbone and a hint of crisp hops. Flavor is similar but with a bit more of the hops. Light bitterness. A pretty unique amber ale; sort of a cross between a typical amber ale and an American pale ale. A bit of a ratings bonus for originality.

Spicier taste than most amber ales, so wins a prize. But otherwise not worth a mention.

Deep red witha well-laced caramel head. Smooth in the mouth, with honey and clover dancing with caramel and lightly roasted almonds. A very enjoyable brew.

Lightly floral nose (honeysuckle and gardinia) and sugar cookie malts. Small oily head that stays around for a while and an old hazy honey body. Nicley hopped with a firm bready charactor. Fairly simple and staight foward, good session beer but dosnt quite have the oomph to make this one of the greats.

Draft everywhere I went in Seattle. Lightly cloudy, dark brown color. Malty nose with lots of dough and roasted sugars. Flavors of brown sugar, biscuits, and a touch of tobacco. Not overly strong, but nicely balanced and a very creamy, smooth finish. Warms the throat and stomach. Really awesome amber and an easy go-to when in Seattle.
