| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 21, 2004 On tap at the Liquid Lounge in EMP. Cloudy/murky amber almost brown like color. Faint malt aromas. Light to medium bodied, somewhat smooth on the palate, with nutty, malt flavors. The finish is a mild hop intensity. An enjoyable beer. Crafty07 (393), Florence, Kentucky, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 13, 2002 This is a very respectable amber ale, but considerably overrated by some overzealous (and perhaps drunk) reviewers. Appearance is a pleasant hazy orange-amber; head is a bit disappointing but with lingering lacy traces. Aroma is almost undetectable--what nose there is can be said to be slightly malty and fruity. The flavor is decidedly malty, with medium hop presence providing balance...carbonation is also a bit on the light side...It finishes quite clean, with just a hint of lingering malt sweetness. Don’t get me wrong--I drink this ale periodically when out-and-about in Pugetland drinking emporiums, but I think perhaps this brew’s reputation is built upon it’s tap-only availability and exotic name and logo. Again, this is a very drinkable offering, but certainly does not reside in the front rank of ales in this classification, or for that matter, in the Northwest region. Re-Rate 7/13/02 Had this again last night. Head was healthier this time around, as was aroma. Hops were also more prominent--especially in the finish--but somehow all the elements of this brew just don’t mesh together. I still think it is well-overrated. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 23, 2002 Well I must say I was disapointed with this beer. Maybe I had a bad tap. I found the palate to be light, I didn’t like the aroma, the flavor was decent with some nice malt sweet characteristics. I’ll have to try it again, because I was very disapointed.
