The aroma was caramel and hay with some sweet pears. Not much hops, I thought that this smelled like a bland amber at first blush, but wasn’t sure as few hops were apparent. The taste was lightly bitter grapefruit with some peanuts in the background. Good for the style, but nothing special. beerguy101 (3946), Newark, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 19, 2003 Had on tap at Safeco Field watching the Mariners play. Has a delectable murky brown appearance with a thick creamy head. Has a faint malty aroma. Flavor - tangy, hard to place - very original. Has a bit of a smoked feel to it. Good thick mouthfeel - stays strong to the finish at the bottom of the large plastic stadium cup. caesar (3034), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 6, 2008 Tap @ Safeco Field. Mariners vs Yankees, Brendan Morrow almost gets a no-hitter against the Yankees. What a great game. The beer was a bit nutty, caramel. Quite bitter taste. Decent, but served a bit too cold maybe. Did not recognize this as a top class amber ale. presario (2982), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 5, 2005 Orange. Very cloudy/soupy. Orange and mellon aroma. One of my favourite ambers perhaps because it seems more like a hefebarley. Original and refreshing. daknole (2959), Plantation, Florida, USA

Aromas of caramel, hops, and some sweet citrus notes. Flavor is unreal. Best amber I have ever had. Tons of caramel and seemed like a hint of chocolate. Rich and full, just delicious. I wish I could drink this all the time. BOTTLE IT! bb (2919), Martinez, California, USA
