Pours with one-finger white head that goes quickly leaving a little lace. Clear amber color. Slight hoppy nose. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Starts with a good mix of malt and hops, hops dominate, well balanced for an amber, finish does not linger. $4.50 for a 16oz glass.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 16, 2007 Updated: Aug 25, 2008Draft at The Garage in Seattle. Pour is reddish amber with a bit of cloudiness. Off white head that faded rather quickly. The aroma is slightly roasted malt and some nice citrus hops. The initial taste was a bit sour, which surprised me. I had three pints of this, and all started this way, and by the 2nd or 3rd sip wasn’t present anymore. After the initial sour, a nice malt backbone was revealed with a very clean pine hop bitter finish. This was a decent session beer for the purpose. BuckeyeBoy (1670), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 2, 2009 Growler thanks to riversideAK. Pours a bright and cloudy amber color with a big light orange and white head. The aroma is nice; a ton of earthy malts, caramel, and lots of fresh hops. The flavor is initially mostly on the rich citrus and lightly bitter hop, the malt is the real backbone though, lots of caramel and a earthy sweet almost butterscotch flavor. Easygoing and mild as an Amber ale should be. Very nice. A nice creamy palate. Thanks Alex. Headbanger (1591), Aurora, Illinois, USA

I finally got my shot at it and I loved it- had a pint at the POrtland airport after landing form Dallas and at that moment it was the best beer I had ever tasted. But I digress. After thinking about it, I was able to step back and be more realistic. Cloudy brown leather colored. Head was drafty. And the nose was fantastic. Grapefruit hints lying with all that yummy, yummy malt. Excellent brew. IndianaRed (1559), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 6, 2004 On Tap at Old Chicago, cloudy redish amber with a good creamy head and heavy lacing. Aroma was very busy, floral, citrus and hops. Fairly sweet flavor with fruity, apricots and apple cider notes. Fairly hopy and the ABV seemed a little high. Very tasty and a bit unusual. Feel was moderately smooth and the aftertaste was a very subtle bitter woody flavor. Quite good.
