Thick and smooth, but crisp. I could actually distinguish both kinds of hops present. Amazing beer. A+ herbstress3 (221), Bellingham, Washington, USA

I was determined it was the BEST beer ever in the beginning. Sure it is easy to drink, the color is beautiful and it goes down very smoothly- but drink too much of it and you lose the excitement. It is great for a keg party but don’t ever get sick on it or you’ll never look at it the same again... Anyways my ratings may seem a little high but it is a well crafted beer. beerguy101 (3972), Newark, California, USA

Flavor was orange and biscuit with lemon and hops. Palate was bubbly and creamy with medium body. Overall, a terrific beer I would order again and again. kmweaver (2501), Sebastopol, California, USA

Pours a deep amber-brown color; creamy off-white head with excellent retention and fine-bubbled lacing; gorgeous pour. Dried red fruits and light wet malts in the aroma; nicely dry. Medium mouthfeel: creamy, ideally carbonated presence in the mouth; dried red fruits, earthiness, and a lively perimeter of citrus and mineral bitterness; incredibly drinkable and pleasant amber ale; lovely. Medium finish: dried red fruits, toastiness, and crackers; nicely dry and toasty throughout. KennyKonif (10), Breckenridge, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 9, 2006 I consider myself a refined beer drinker. I used to live in Seattle and now reside in MN. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a Mac and Jacks African Amber and it was by far my favorite beer to date. The carmel is a nice twist and the bitterness of the hops is pleasantly sublte. My ONLY dissapointment is I can not purchase this product in a bottle. Still trying to find a way to line myself up with a KEG and somehow get it shipped out here to MN. Beer will vary depending on location but Anthony's Home Port in Des Moines (WA) has had very good consistancy. CJ Borgs in Sea Tac also. Slight fruitiness balanced with the right amount of hops.
