on tap at the virginia inn in seattle. pretty amber but otherwise has too much character to be considered an amber ale. aroma of caramel and pineapple turnover. nice combination of nutty toffee flavours and fruity bitterness

Aroma of floral hops with a yeasty finish. Poured from tap a dark amber color with proper head. Flavor was of a little citrus and a good amount of floral hops to match the smoked malty background. I prefer my ambers to have a noticable amount of hops in them and this one did the right job.

Sampled @ Rose & Raindrop in Portland, and @ Sea-Tac Airport. Murky yellow and orange appearance. Cantaloupe with some wood barrel notes, really mild but unique. Mellow orange, peaches, tangerines and melons, very sweet like pulp-filled orange juice. A good musty sweet hopped brew.

Had in a cowgirl-dancing bar in Tacoma. An interesting beer. This is extremely creamy for an amber ale, but it tasty and quick drinkable. Good stuff.

Draft at Safeco, while the Mariners got whipped by the White Sox, 13-3, with Dye going deep twice. Hazy brown, amber, muddy even, good head. Fresh green hop aroma. Caramel and toffee and biscuit body, and more biscuit with loads of thick hops. Vegetal, yet not. Full bodied hops? Not particularly bitter. Interesting, in fact unique, and good stuff.

Citrousy malty aroma, nice medium dark amber. Thin, but creamy head. Awesome Apricot taste. And amazingly balanced hops and malts. More malty than most American Ambers, guess that why its African, maybe!
