Received a growler of this as a gift. Pours a dark cloudy amber. Aroma is pleasantly sweet and hoppy, as is the taste. I unfortunately discovered that if you let it sit too long, the yeast precipitates out. My favorite amber so far.

9/15/07 on draught at the Garage, Seattle. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, and light hop fruit. Appearance is a very hazy light brown with a moderate off white head. Mouthfeel is lightly grainy with a medium carb feel and a slightly textured finish. Overall, a great amber with a nice grainy and sweet complexity.

The ubiquitous Washington beer, not available in bottles. Could my love for it come from nostalgia? Perhaps, but it is still my favorite amber by far. Aroma of sweet caramel and a hint of peppery spice. Tastes first of caramel and nuts, and then adds in a bit of a peppery bite at the end.

On tap at the Owl & Thistle. Gorgeous butterscotch and hop nose, spicy and sweet. Palate is more butterscotch, mouthcoating, hoppy and delicious. So incredibly pleasant, really surprised for an amber ale.

Draft at Ducks and Drakes, Leavenworth. Nose is full of caramel, nuttiness, faint wood and earth, some very light floral, fruity hop as well. Deep orange-amber color, translucent, with a thin head but nice lacing. Flavor profile is nicely balanced with light apple and citrus fruits, toasty bread, sweet and nutty caramel malts and a gentle spicy bitterness. Moderately effervescent with a medium body. Sort of an exercise in balance.

Tap@The Virginia Inn, Seattle. Buttery, nutty malts, also a bit cakey (not sweet). Some tropical fruit and apricot. Nicely soft texture, bitter finish, a lovely drink.

Densely clouded amber appearance. Rich toffee, caramel nose. Toffee/caramel palate, mild and subtly balanced. Rich flavor, smooth delivery, with mild fruity hop citrus. Expected it to be a let down after all the hype but it holds its own.

Had in Safeco Field. Pours reddish brown with a bit of hazy tan head. Aroma caramel malts. Slight hop flavor. Very drinkable.
