Mildly floral, light grainy notes mingle with a citrus hop bite, then builds to a sweet floral and light caramel flavor. finishes clean and crisp. a bit more pronounced malt profile would be awesome to me. Creamier and sweeter as it warmed, showing more of that malt aspect. WISEGUY572 (1251), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Good malt base, good hoppy bitterness, and I guess the fruitiness and the cloudiness are related some way, the way they are in an unfiltered sake maybe. Suttree (2743), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

"No. Its a Yuppie Cult Beer. Too Much Hype"
Well, granted, I had drank quite a few IPA so I noticed anything different, but I was pleasently surprised. Orange to brown, hop nose and initial flavor, but the are pronounced notes of blueberry and licorace, with a creamy malt presence as well. It finishes a little more dry, and clean - very little after taste. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 19, 2003 Had on tap at Safeco Field watching the Mariners play. Has a delectable murky brown appearance with a thick creamy head. Has a faint malty aroma. Flavor - tangy, hard to place - very original. Has a bit of a smoked feel to it. Good thick mouthfeel - stays strong to the finish at the bottom of the large plastic stadium cup. ntempleton (3), Seattle, Washington, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 19, 2001 This a very good beer. Very creamy, lasting head with a definate late addition hop flavor and amroma. With light to medium carbonation and a wonderful amber color, it’s perfect when lagers and blondes are not enough and a stout or porter is to much.
I’ve had it many times, but I must admit that it is a tad over rated. Here in Seattle it’s one of the newest ’in’ beers, and because of that current opinion is probably higher then it deserves. leitrim65 (398), Seattle, Washington, USA

Faint malt aromas. Light to medium bodied, somewhat smooth on the palate, with nutty, malt flavors. The finish is a mild hop intensity. An enjoyable beer. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Draft at the Mariners game. Aroma is caramel, nice maltiness to it. Taste has a nice hoppiness to it, with plenty of maltiness, caramel, light nuttiness. DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2003 Tried at the Cheesecake Factory, Seattle. This was one of my last beers whilst on holiday this year. Very tasty, and flavoursome ale. Nice dark colour - like a slightly dryer oktoberfest beer. At the time I didn't realise it was so well regarded, but I can see why people enjoy it so much.
