Tough to get Mac & Jack’s if you’re not in the Seattle area, but this has been my favorite beer for some time now. If you’re in the Seattle area, I highly recommend giving it a try while you’re here. A dark amber ale, beautiful color, that smacks of caramel and citrus. A fantastic beer, to say the least!

One of the best beers I have had in a while. Its cloudiness has some mystery within. An abundance of flavor that is not overpowering. Smooth to the tongue.

Growler shared at Diego’s tasting. Pours a nice amber color. This is a helluva amber. Aromas of caramel, hops, and some sweet citrus notes. Flavor is unreal. Best amber I have ever had. Tons of caramel and seemed like a hint of chocolate. Rich and full, just delicious. I wish I could drink this all the time. BOTTLE IT!

On tap at Rose City Cafe and Wine Bar, Portland Airport. This is an attractive beer...a copper hazy glow with a dark brown inner core of malted softness. Slight smell of muted cinnamon and clove. Taste starts off with a robust malty wave followed by a balanced copper taste and finishes with a subtle, but memorable smooth bitterness. Somehow, this brew manages to avoid the "ropey" taste that hinders me from drinking more ambers. Undoubtedly the best amber ale I have ever had...it will probably be a long time until I get to drink more of this; but this is a beer that I will remember. Excellent stuff!

The worst part about leaving Seattle by far is the lack of Mac & Jacks. I LOVE this beer. Very complex and drinkable.

Deep amber colored beer with the heavy smell and taste of the serengeti. Grass is the pre-dominant flavor, but there are serious citrus undertones as well. Easily the best amber ale I’ve ever tasted and it’s a dear wish of mine that the brewery will start bottling it. Note: Over the last year or so I’ve noticed some off flavors in this one, not sure if we’ve just been getting bad kegs or what, but I haven’t gotten the same awesomeness out of it lately. Hopefully the greatness I remember will return soon!

I freaking love this beer... I obsessed trying to find it my entire time in Seattle and finally had it in the airport after I missed my flight home... Sooo worth it... Cloudy red orange, like honey... Aroma is pure liquid amber malt, the type you put in homebrew....Flavor is honey, malts, with a gentle hoppiness that stays on the palate... The definition of a west coast amber.... Delicious
