Draught @ Taphouse Grill, Seattle. Pours a dark brown almost black color with a tan head. Roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and slighlty licorice flavor. Roasted malty chocolate finish.

Dec 30, 2008 Tap at TFD Boise: Very dark brown pour with a finger of creamy tan head. Nice sheets of lacing. Aroma is soft of roasted malt and cocoa. Tastes smooth and sweet with more cocoa than roast or coffee. Rather tame, but still pleasant.

Nov 20, 2008 Deep brown with a thin head. Roasted nutty malt aroma with coffee. Medium body. Roasty, blackened malt flavors here with a drying coffee bitterness in the finish. Decent enough breakfast brew. Draft@ Afrika Lounge.

Sep 24, 2008 On tap at SeaTac @ 6am with eggs and bacon. Nice. Pours dark seemingly murky brown with tan head. Well maybe not so murky. The aroma is mild with notes of roasted malts, toffee and earthiness. This beer is served way too cold to get a good read on the aromatics. The taste starts mildly roasty and sweet with a light amount of dark fruity esters. I also get a suggestion of hop bitterness before a growing malt roastiness transitions from moderate roasted malts to more of a burnt maltiness with an edge of chocolate malts. All of their offerings here could be served warmer.
