on tap @ the southern tier brewery. pours a bronze color with a tanish head. like the others have said, it’s a hoppy aroma with roast malt, and little alcohol. taste is earthy with some sweetness, and hops. mid body with a lite bitter finish. not bad, not great.

On tap @ MacGregors Jefferson Ave. Disappointing. Wouldn’t classify this as a Scotch at all or If I was STier I’d be embarassed to. No balls or flavor on this. Watery, light to no aroma. slightly sweet even some cherry taste. Boo

(draft @ MacGregor’s - Canandaigua, NY) Dark copper color with a puffy tan head. Aroma is light with some hops and a decent amount of roasted malts. Flavor is slightly bitter with some hops and earth notes and a touch of sweet and caramel malts. Sweet and caramelly in the finish.

Tap at MacGregor’s - Henrietta, NY Reddish-orange body with a light head. Smooth mouthfeel though somewhat too hoppy in my opinion to be considered a Scotch Ale. Very light earth tones in the taste with a sweet ending.

On Tap on MacGregor’s in Chili. Nice sweet malty body to this beer. I did not notice any hops in there. Very enjoyable.

I was not overly impressed with this offering. Minimal aroma, bit of dough is all. Malty palate with an odd tasting hop underbite. I don’t know what the hops were doing in the scotch. Average.

On Tap on MacGregor’s in Henrietta. Very dark pour with a lasting head (probably from the tap). Aroma is very mild. Maybe just a touch of sweet smoke. The flavor brings out a bit more of the peat smokiness. Pretty sweet. The 6.5% or so of alcohol definitely brings some nice body to this beer, but it could use a bit more flavor.
