esox (90), Oulu, Finland Jul 1, 2008 Bottled. I had this one only very slightly chilled. Dark brownish to amber colour. Large and somewhat creamy head. Sweetish aroma has syrupy malts, light roastedness and aromatic hops. Sweet raisins and also a hint of peppery spiciness. Flavor is sweetish with a slightly bitter finish. Some lemon is present in the finish. Smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation. A bit thin, but not watery. I liked this one quite much, actually. Gr0ve (1088), Oslo, Norway Jan 6, 2007 330 ml bottle. Chestnut colour with a tall fluffy off-white head that clings to the glass. Caramelly sweet, slightly burnt, aroma. Quite dry malty and lightly roasted sweet flavours. Lots of flavour and character for a beer this low in alcohol. Soft and mellow flavours. Smooth texture. Definititely the best of the klasse D Christmas beers this season. Well done, Mack! larsga (2132), Oslo, Norway Nov 9, 2006 Huge creamy light beige head over beautiful deep red body with carbonation. Light, caramelly, bready aroma with a slight roasty edge. Roasty, sweetish caramel taste with a slightly watery mouthfeel. Dry, burnt aftertaste. Traces of wild berries. Quite good. (0.5l can.) 5000 (2400), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Jan 20, 2005 Can pours dark copper, translucent, large rocky white head, with attractive lacing. Grainy aroma, subtle malts. Malty flavor, slightly nutty. Medium body and mouthfeel. Quick finish, some lingering malts, semi-sweet as well. Nothing earth shattering, but clean and easy on the palate.   Happy to try another brew from the homeland.
TBone (4924), Pori, Finland Dec 8, 2004 Bottled (ABV 4.7%)
Dark amber color with small off-white head. Ashy and slightly malty toffee aroma. Malty, well-balanced vienna with toffee in flavor. Oily, dry, a bit harsh aftertaste. No Christmas found here.
