Aroma is odd...ligher than expected and a bit metallic. Flavor is a very pronounced dark chocolate and espresso, with a sweet finish. Tons of roasted malt in this one. Not as much alcohol flavor as I was expecting. Palate is smooth and creamy. Overall a very good session stout. davidCC (130), New York, USA

Pours a thick dark brown, practically black with a thin caramel/brown head. The head lasts a long time likely due to the thickness. Any thicker and it would have been a sludge, I love it. LouieDog40oz (28), Germantown, Maryland, USA

Pours like thick motor oil with a late growing, huge, creamy, dark brown head. Tons of lacing and good retention all the way through. Black body. Very malty with nice chocolate notes. Very sipable, sweet stout with vanilla, alcohol and a nice coffee balance. Nice thick and smooth body. Will buy this one again! mrant (330), New York, USA

Absolutely beautiful! Light lacing. Roasted smells and straight up coacoa. Thin on the palate, but not too thin. The taste lives up to its aroma, but with a great blend of raisins, anise... just... makes me... want to drink more... and more... leaves a nice (yet modestly) chocolately taste on the back of the tongue. A lovely and easy to drink beer for such a dark and tasty brew. TheEpeeist (1470), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA

Nose of brown sugar and clay; mild grapes. Medium body with a sweet, lactic tang. Taste is brown sugar and plum. Dries with coffee and currants. The epitome of a sweet stout.
