Its coal black in color. This brew is delicious with flavors of sweet malt, never burnt, and caramel and chocolate. Wow! Awesome! Should be enjoyed more frequently by all who love stout! elelwarren (138), SF Bay area, California, USA

It poured deep brown, with a small, disappearing head. Very smooth at first, with low carbonation, but way sticky going down. It tasted immediately of fried plantains, malt balls, maybe ovaltine. I decided to let it sit. When my wife came home a half an hour later, I asked her what it smelled like. She said, "beer." She tasted it, and said, "wierd, how sweet & milky." I took it from her before she could down it all (she has a sweet tooth) &, lo & behold, it tasted much more like a stout, w/burnt caramel coming through a bit more than before. Still a bit like a fermented, if fried, plantain... llyons37 (23), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2007 Updated: Mar 20, 2009Thick, oily pour. Tan head. Pours frothy with ample lacing. Soft, creamy mouthfeel. Lactic, slightly diacetyl nose. Robust malt flavors impart a dry, roasted flavor that offets the sweet cream flavors. Silky finish.
Carib brewery version. Thick black color with tight tan head. Aroma is slightly vegetal but with chocolate carob and fruits as well as lactic sourness so not bad. Soft carbonation. Very fruity flavors including banana, seemingly rich. Quite a sweet version, not as bad as I first thought but does finish sticky-sweet. 6-3-6-3-8 NobleSquirrel (1120), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 9, 2007 a pretty straight forward one here. Kind of like a lesser version of the SA Cream Stout. A bit funked with a sweetness lying in there. not as robust as I’d have expected but quite alright. riversideAK (2761), Shoreline, Washington, USA
