| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 5, 2007 Whole lot of chocolate and quite malty. Interesting beer - good but not one I would drink regularly since I can only take stouts occasionally. CheersBabe (62), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 5, 2007 This tastes mostly on the back of your tongue, so it tastes a bit bitter. In my opinion, too much chocolate. However this does have a very bold flavor. Sweet at first but ends a little bitter. BeerVirgin72 (820), Pataskala, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 5, 2007 Bottle from the Winking lizard. Smelled like sweet chocolate milk. Poured very dark with a dark tan head...This has got to be my new favorite sweet stout. Absolutley perfectly drinkable. Taste of chocolate, sugar, and a vanilla milk flavor. With just the slightest bitter finish. This was a great sweet stout! biggmike (480), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2007 My 150th rating!!! Bottle. Black pour with reddish-brown head that dissipated quickly. Thin mouthfeel for a stout. As far as the Boston Beer Company goes the Samuel Adams Cream Stout is better than this. Ok taste, but nothing special. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 28, 2007 Bottle. Average, light-brown head with some of the head dissapating. Solid lacing. Dark black body. Chocolate, light coffee, and yeah, that is about it for the aroma-pretty light. But very appealing. Flavor is sweet, but not as overly sweet as a good bit of sweet stouts tend to be. I like this beer, actually a good bit. And as mentioned before, for the price you really can’t go wrong. obguthr (1073), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Apr 28, 2007 Distinct and unique. Bacon aroma or some other kind of smoked meat. Dark in color with a dark brown thin head. Taste is heavily vanilla finishing in licorice. Rather complex and not very hoppy. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I actually uprated it several times by the time I finished it. labandita (5), USA does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Apr 21, 2007 This is the world’s perfect stout. I like stouts so much, but usually they are too bitter for me -- I can’t enjoy the complex flavors of beers that I can’t stand to drink. What can I say, I’m sensitive...anyway, this sweet stout is about the best I’ve ever had. I can enjoy all the flavors (chocolate, and I’d argue hazelnut, with smokey overtones) and it has just enough sweetness to cut anything bitter that might come with a good stout. Also, it’s cheap! You can’t go wrong with this!
