12oz bottle picked up at Trader Joe’s. almost black with a medium tan head. aroma is of bitter cofee. flavor is mostly sweet choclate and tofee, but not too sweet. smooth feel going down with a slight cofee aftertaste. a very solid stout, for a great price, bnut doesn’t have the complexity fo a truely great beer.

Pours near black with a large, cascading head. Fair lacing. Aroma of bittersweet chocolate and coffee. Tastes of chocolate, coffee, a little dark fruits (prunes?). Very creamy texture , and cloyingly sweet. Medium body. Finishes sweet.

This beer is hell of dark, witha quickly gone head that is really brown. Smells sweet of course (if sweet is a smell) with some fruitier elements. Palate is like a GOD! Seriously, each sip brings something new and contemplating on the taste brings out new things all the time. Definately sweet from the milk sugar. But also it has a considerable roasty qaulity to it... so some coffeeish elements in there. A bit of chocolate, but not bitter. Very malty and with a tinge of alcohol taste that only accentuates the sweetness and is about as inoffensive as a children’s television program. BRILLIANT!

This is one of the best beers I’ve ever tasted! It was smooth, flavorful, and exciting. It seemed to contain all my favorite flavors; chocolate, hops, coffee, and a bit of cigar. I would highly recommend anyone who likes beer to try this one!

Slightly sweet, without over-doing it. Good body. Thick, rich texture. AND, fairly cheap at Trader Joe’s (for the other Californians out there)

Bottle. Black with a brown foamy head that dissipates quickly. Strong roasted coffee aroma with a hint of chocolate. A nice sweet stout.

Maybe I’ve just been drinking a lot of lighter beer lately, but this is one dark beer. The beer looks completely black and even a little thick when poured. The head is a nice dark brown colr and has some good body. The beer smells like caramel, chocolate, and coffee. A little sweet smelling, but not overpowering. The beer’s taste is much lighter than I would have thought judging from its appearance and smell. It has a light sweet flavor with a bit of a bitter coffee aftertaste. It is lightly carbinated with very small bubbles. Overall this is a very pleasant beer to drink, but its best feature is probably how dark it pours. It really surprised me.

bottle from total wine. pours an opaque black, dark tan head with some lacing. aroma is caramel, fruit. full-bodied, with lots of complex malts, more caramel, some cloying sweetness on the finish but overall pretty well balanced. very little roast/toast here, hints of coffee and just tons of malt. one of my more enjoyed malty beers.
