Flavor is sweet and roasty with smoky undertones and a hint of raisins. Finish is sweet with just a hint of hops and the mouthfeel is thin and sticky. Willin8 (55), Massapequa, New York, USA

Aroma is chocolatey with slight caramel notes. Flavor is milk chocolate with roasted malt and slight coffee. It’s like drinking a chocolate shake. Dangerous stuff! mrdeath5493 (108), Arkansas, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 7, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Sweet chocolate aroma. Pours a dark brown with a moderate amount of thick but short-lasting dark tan head; nice legs. Flavor of chocolate cake and roasted coffee with a European hops sourness. Finish both bitter and yet overly sweet. Heavy body. Difficult to finish. This is a classic but not particularly good dessert beer. It starts out promising, but it quickly descends into saccharine mediocrity. mynameisjonas (206), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 29, 2007 Updated: Feb 5, 2007Pours a very dark brown/black with a reddish tan head. Big head that disappears quickly and becomes very small and has tons of lacing. I can smell some milk chocolate, toffee, and what smells to me a little bit like cheap rum. I also smell some little nuts in there, which i can relate to since I also have little nuts. I actually really like this kind of aroma. Big malty flavor with a really pleasant sweetness that isn’t cloying but it is very apparent. Some sourness in there as well to balance out the malty goodness and it is just enough to do the job. It goes down very smooth and easily with not very much carbonation. So easy to drink I had to make sure I was sipping it so I wouldn’t drink it too fast. While it’s not a complicated and complex beer, it definitely is enjoyable and has enough to keep me coming back. Has a short and sweet finish that reminds me a little of those badass Raisinette candies. Here’s the kicker: Trader Joe’s has 6 packs of this stuff for $4.99. THAT’S AS MUCH AS ROLLING ROCK! and this is pretty much a great beer. I have just found my new "go to" beer. The low alcohol content is kind of nice, I know I can have a couple before bed and not be all fucked up in the morning. Highly recommended even if you’re not on a budget. I can see myself buying large quantities of this stuff this year. luiss (89), Elmsford, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 29, 2007 This dark colored brew is very comlex yet very easy to drink. Low hops flavor brings out some malty, doughy taste. Hints of dry raisons, and fig taste. The smell is of caramel, and pumpernikle bread. A slight sweet taste with a mellow finish to it.
