Smells creamy. Milk chocolate aroma. Fresh roasted coffee. Mocha. Just sweet roasted malt all the way through.
Taste is coffee and milk chocolate. Rich and creamy. Faint milkiness. Mouth is creamy but alot of carbonation. Maybe a more vigorous pour will correct this. Really tasty stuff and an easy session drinker.
I used to drink alot of this stuff early in my beer explorations, say 1993 or 94 but strayed from it long ago. Here’s proof that it still belongs in my regular rotaion. Still holds up, many quadrupels, imperial stouts and double IPA’s later. mmalby (1), Lee, New Hampshire, USA does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Jul 21, 2006 Not for everyone, but for me this is THE BEER that made all other beers taste so so. shp555 (1691), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Had a decent flavor malty but had kind of a bitter ashy finish was not that impressed fleaaccela (1), USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2006 This is pretty good as far as taste is concerned. I’m honestly more of a fan of the imperial stouts, but this guy does a satisfying job of being delicious and light.
Smells like liquid fermented sugar, not my style. A quickly dissapating brown head, and for me, thats always a treat. Feels like no carbination.
The taste is really nice. Sweet and subtle. The texture of the beer itself feels a bit watered down, but it is sweet and first hits you with a slight kick of chocolate. A slight rub of the pallete to the roof of your mouth and youwill discovered nice lil coffee nods.
Was terribly disappointed to find the alcohol content being so low, but the taste is refreshing for sure. I could see something like this going down well at a bbq. Definately a beer that could probally be enjoyed by everyone from your craft lovers to your average "I don’t drink anything but Bud" redneck. Middle of the road, but nice job. The chocolate taste and aroma and there in abundance. A solid sweet stout, which I can’t find at a liqour store here in Vegas. Only the finish left a little to be desired. shrubber85 (2995), Wallhalben, Germany
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 8, 2006 Bottle. Aroma of candied pecans and malt - like the nut vendors at a German Kristkindlmarkt. Pours like syrup - midnight black with small head. Slightly sweet pecan flavor initially that changes to a nice strong malt flavor. Not a very strong flavor but very nice. Smooth and well blended. Great stuff. Eladerman (53), Newburgh, Indiana, USA
