Jun 15, 2008 pours black with less than one finger beige/mocha head. Not much striking on aroma. Flavor of sweet chocolate malt, licorice with lasting bitterness at the finish. Thinner body than expected by its appearance. Pretty easy drinking stout - almost has the flavor of an imperial, even without all the alcohol.

Jun 12, 2008 12oz bottle: pours pitch black with small tan head, aroma of well roasted malt and some chocolate, very full flavored and thick like oil not a light tasting stout like guinness, has tons of roasted malt chocolate and even a hint of licorice. very well made stout would expect the ABV to be 10+ with this much flavor.

Jun 4, 2008 I cannot believe that I have not rated this. 12 ounce bottle from a 6 pack purchased at BevMo in Vacaville. Dark bitter chocolate aroma with some licorice as well as some ashiness. Light sweet, metallic notes. A nice aroma. Beautiful moderately opaque dark mahogany body with a nice dark tan head that leaves primo lacing. Sweet, chocolatey start. Followed by some mild smokiness and a nice roastiness. More light, sweet chocolate to finish. A bit of molasses, too. A really solid sweet stout. Yum.

Jun 1, 2008 Pours a pure dark/black color with a espresso colored head. Smells of roasted sweet malts, chocolates, caramel. Taste is sweet and pretty smooth kinda chocolaty flavor. I initally didn’t really like it the 1st time I tried it, but after the 2nd bottle I know love it.

May 31, 2008 Good beer. Pours pure black wtih a small brown head. Aroma is sweet malt, chocolate, oats and flavors follow suit. Very rich mouthfeel and overall a pretty dang good beer.

May 30, 2008 Pours a thick, engine-oil black with a thin, dark brown head. Aroma is warm and nutty, hints of chocolate and caramel. Flavor is sweet, a little nutty. Mostly notes of caramel malt. Smooth. Nice.
