Flavor of sweet chocolate malt, licorice with lasting bitterness at the finish. Thinner body than expected by its appearance. Pretty easy drinking stout - almost has the flavor of an imperial, even without all the alcohol. thooper41 (388), Oregon, USA

Dark bitter chocolate aroma with some licorice as well as some ashiness. Light sweet, metallic notes. A nice aroma. Beautiful moderately opaque dark mahogany body with a nice dark tan head that leaves primo lacing. Sweet, chocolatey start. Followed by some mild smokiness and a nice roastiness. More light, sweet chocolate to finish. A bit of molasses, too. A really solid sweet stout. Yum. eazy1106 (8), USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 1, 2008 Pours a pure dark/black color with a espresso colored head. Smells of roasted sweet malts, chocolates, caramel. Taste is sweet and pretty smooth kinda chocolaty flavor. I initally didn’t really like it the 1st time I tried it, but after the 2nd bottle I know love it. daknole (3025), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
