Mild aroma of sweet caramel malt, a bit buttery, with light resiny hops and light fruit. Simple, watery flavour, follows the aroma, quite a bitter finish. Average bodied. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 30, 2009 2009-10-28. Lightly hazy dark amber body, headless. Flavour is a very traditional English profile, sweet caramel core, light bitterness throughout, just a touch of roasty/toasty (not the right word but that is the best I am coming up with) malt adds interest. Pleasant aroma, sweet malt has complexity that eludes me, very light floral touch, subtle hops. 7+ Average plus palate is flat, carbonation would make it lighter on the tongue. Found it pretty enjoyable, surprised to see the low ratings on here. Mix up? Cask at Volo, Toronto Sammy (4013), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Some bitterness accentuated by some noticeable yeast used. More carbonation than a normal cask. Average mouthfeel. Tasted some barley as well. A redish tnge to the colour. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 27, 2009 Cask. At Volo 2009 English Cask event. Hazy amber-orange with a small white head. Pungent floral aroma, overly sweet caramel malt ... the taste is bitter papery butterscotch pudding, some floral bitterness. Slick, still mouthfeel, no alcohol presence, and a somewhat harsh bitter aftertaste - Makes me think "extract." Radek Kliber (3950), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada

Appearance: flat top with hazed amber below. Nose: bit medicinal , fruity sweets , hint of cherry , sour hint with alcohol . Light woody notes. Flavor/Palate : very low carbonation , almost flat. Citric , grassy , fruity with feel of raw leaf, hint of black tea. Softer cleaner malty finish. Kind of grows on you as you drink.
