[2078-20090405] Cask. Spicy herbs and mild hemlock tea aroma with an interesting floral yeast. Hazy, light brown yellow body with no head. Toasted floral petals yeast flavour finishes sweet with floral flour and has a mildly burnt aftertaste. Medium body is mildly bitter. Really interesting to try but weird floralness.

Cask at Volo - came a slightly hazy pale gold with a thick, bubbly white head that left thick lace. Aroma faint but elegant, with English hop varietal notes, some grass and a bit of fruitiness as well. Lovely, delicate flavour of peach, lemon, grass, some malt sweetness and a nice lingering bitter finish. Soft, but rough, if that makes sense. Seems very "of the earth". Like Harry noted, not yer typical IPA, and much closer to a golden ale, but a beautiful summer quaff nonetheless. Well done. Looking forward to trying the other offerings from this brewery.

Cask. IPA Cask Challenge at Volo. Pale flat hazy gold with just a few bubbles of frothy head - at a pub in London this might be 4/5. Floral, dryly bitter aroma, a little grassy, hardly malty at all. Extremely pungent floral/grassy bitter taste, quite bitter - IPA? hell no, not by our standards, but as a cask UK golden ale, damnfine. thick, still body, astringent and I liked it more than anyone else - nearly my beer of the day.

2009-04-05. Lightly hazy golden yellow body with a tiny white head. Yeast aroma, modest hops and grassy notes. (6+) Flavour has a light hoppy bitterness and a light yeasty bite. Lingering grassy hops in the finish. (6+) Smooth average palate is lightly carbonated. Seems quite similar to the Organic Ale but less green, and more hops. Pleasant but underwhelming. Cask at Volo

At Volo’s Ontario IPA Cask Challenge. Not a bad one, neutral aroma and golden appearance without head, again it could have used a few days. Decent bitter flavour, average cask mouthfeel. Fuggles hops, For aroma, golding.
