Cask at the Castle on King. Brown with a thin white head. Aroma of light floral hops and a nutty note. Flavour is of mildly sweet malt, with a prominent mushroom note. Hops are barely noticeable. Served at cellar temperature, little carbonation. Needs more hops.

Cask at The Shepherd’s Crook, Georgetown. This is wonderful stuff. It was dark amber brown with a sizeable fluffy permanent head. The aroma had plenty of citrus and grass in the hops, also a bit of wood. The mouthfeel was medium in body and a bit chewy. I could taste plenty of caramel in the malt with some wood, and some grassy hops behind it; there was plenty of depth in the flavour from the cask with some subtle herbal and earthy elements.

on tap at the catle on king. first of al let me start by saying EPA’s are under-rated all-around. very hop driven nose with english pale malts as a spine. hop driven flavour with english pale malts holding things together. if you have ever been served a proper pint of this elixer you know how good it can be. thx to f&m for making this beer availible. A BIG THX TO THE CASTLE ON KING FOR PROVIDING A FRESH SAMPLE OF THIS BREW!!

Draught @ C’est What. Clear orange-amber with small nitro-looking, even head. Aroma is earthy, mild with some dirty socks and diacetyl. Soft, low carbonation and velvet mouthfeel. Sweet nutty and malty flavors are nice and smooth with an off-dry finish. Really smooth and quaffable.

At the Woolwich Arms in Guelph. Flat with no head and very heavy in the mouth and stomach. Smells and tastes of bread dough. Not a pleasant beer.

Cask @ Castle on King. Served at cellar temperature, minimal carbonation. A nice subtle citrus/grassy hop combination, both in the "flavour" hops and in the finish. A decent malt backbone that works well with the hopping, instead of trying to steal the show.

[548-20070819] Tap @ Victory Cafe (Toronto, ON). Hoppy citrus aroma is mildly lemony. Hazy, amber brown body with a very long-lasting creamy white head. Mild citrus hops continues in flavour with a bitter finish. Medium body. Very nice to sip on the patio, especially in such fresh shape. (7/4/6/3/15) 3.5

[779E-20071021] Cask @ Volo Cask Days 2007 (Toronto, ON; "Dry Hopped"). Citrus and hoppy grass aroma. Slightly hazy, orange brown body with no head. Doughy yeast and mild alcoholic grass flavour. Smooth medium body. Uninteresting. (7/2/6/2/11) 2.8
