cask. Volo. golden body, frothy white head looks nice and lasts for a long while. Floral aroma with mild hops. Creamy body. Nice bitterness throughout with a lingering leafy hop finish. some sweet malt in the middle. Pretty decent PA but not particularly interesting.

September 2007. Draft at Feast of Fields. Orangey amber body with a smallish white head. Moderately hoppy aroma, fairly grassy. Similar flavour, moderate bitterness throughout. Light grassy grainy notes. Less fruity than I remember, light citrus notes. Average palate. 6-7/3/7/3/14 - 3.3 <P>November 2003. Amber colour, aroma is light with some malt and hops. Flavour is moderate, with a nice balance of hops and malt. Enjoyable. 6/3/6/3/13 - 3.1

Bottle. Bought fresh at the brewery. Poured a slightly hazy light amber-orange with a 1 finger white cap that reduced to a good lace that stayed (much longer than any other F+M brew). Medium carbonation. Best nose of all the F&M brews....aromas of toast, caramel malts and a thin whisp of sage or pine. Starts bolder up front than other brews from this brewer, with a nice oily mouth feel and medium body where the toasty-caramel malt sits in almost perfect balance with the musty-sage hopping. Finish is clean with a mellow hop aftertaste. The outstanding character of this brew for me was its uncanny. almost perfect balance. Strangely one of the best balanced ales I ever tasted...beginner's luck for F&M? A nice brew...much like a light scotch ale....I’ll buy more

Cask @ Volo. Tastes like a subtle cider! I could not believe it... for a decent ciderness it gets a good rating. Floral with some mild hops, a LOT of malt though. Good dark gold colour as well.

[548-20070819] Tap @ Victory Cafe (Toronto, ON). Hoppy citrus aroma is mildly lemony. Hazy, amber brown body with a very long-lasting creamy white head. Mild citrus hops continues in flavour with a bitter finish. Medium body. Very nice to sip on the patio, especially in such fresh shape. (7/4/6/3/15) 3.5

[779E-20071021] Cask @ Volo Cask Days 2007 (Toronto, ON; "Dry Hopped"). Citrus and hoppy grass aroma. Slightly hazy, orange brown body with no head. Doughy yeast and mild alcoholic grass flavour. Smooth medium body. Uninteresting. (7/2/6/2/11) 2.8

Draught @ C’est What. Clear orange-amber with small nitro-looking, even head. Aroma is earthy, mild with some dirty socks and diacetyl. Soft, low carbonation and velvet mouthfeel. Sweet nutty and malty flavors are nice and smooth with an off-dry finish. Really smooth and quaffable.
