Sep 25, 2004 slightly hazy gold, small white head. flowery, earthy and leafy hop aroma. flavour had bready malt and honey sweetness. a dry roasty finish with earthy hop. not bad.

Apr 6, 2004 On tap at the Winking Judge in Hamilton, Ontario. Pours with little head and a darker amber body. Aroma has malt all over it, and in the taste there is a slight hops bitterness. Finish is clean and crisp, with a nice bite in the throat. Decent.

Aug 21, 2004 Pours light hazy amber witha thin white head. Light hop florals and faint caramel in the aroma. Definatly English in style. But the hops never really show themselves until the finish. Toasted and dry in the finish. It has all the elements, but it ended up weaker than expected.

Oct 25, 2003 (Bottle) Pours a medium, almond head and a copper body. Nose of sweet malt and slight whiskey. Slight fruity hops balances the caramel malt flavour. Hoppy bitterness greets you at the finish. My favourite of the F&M lineup.

May 31, 2008 Cask at the Castle on King. Brown with a thin white head. Aroma of light floral hops and a nutty note. Flavour is of mildly sweet malt, with a prominent mushroom note. Hops are barely noticeable. Served at cellar temperature, little carbonation. Needs more hops.

Jun 16, 2008 At the Woolwich Arms in Guelph. Flat with no head and very heavy in the mouth and stomach. Smells and tastes of bread dough. Not a pleasant beer.

Jun 2, 2006 Draft at Volo, in the good company of hogtownharry. Arrived a hazed amber coor with a tiny head and spots of lace. Seet, fruity malts in the english style, even a bit of smokiness and noticible dusty hops. Dry, dusty flavor and a bit watery, odd compared to the rather bold aroma, with little sweetness except just a touch that emerges midway and leading into an astrigent herbal hop finish. Lifth to medium body and little to no carbonation. Not really my style and just under average overall.
