Bottle. Pours dark red with light beige head. Caramel and Saaz hop aroma. Light malts and citrus. Bitterness is there, but rather more floral than usual for this style. Refreshing.

Mmmm....Looks a treat but just had an unendearing quality. Very malt sweet with little bitterness to counter balance.

Bottle. Too sweet for a bitter. Aroma is malty and not strong. Flavour is sweet with almost no bitterness. Looks nice, red in colour with lasting head. Body is light to medium, with a watery feel.

A very smartly copnstructured beer. shows a great mix and balance of light touch malts, pilsner-like hops and a settled bitter edge reminisce of any decent bitter from the UK. Perfectly drinkable. In fact, were it not for a modest burst from the toffee mlats early I might have been convinced I was sipping a pilsner. Gassy, fizzy finish.

On tap at the brewery bar. Pours copper red, off white head. Aroma is quite hopped, fruity and has a soft spice. Full bodied flavour, a good hop bitterness came through with this tap version (bottles can be lacking in hops). Soft spice, biscuty. Quite nice.

Draught at Mac’s Brewbar, Auckland. Pours dark amber with a small white head. Aroma of caramel malt, nuts and fruit. The flavour is caramel malt, nuts and fruit. Good bitterness. Sweet malty finish. A standout from the other average house beers.
