Beautiful red colour, sexy aroma of Saaz hops and a taste that dissipates far too quickly, as does the head. pickled (47), New Zealand
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 14, 2006 Hoppy and malty. Not a complex beer but tasty and good value. I like this as a session beer. markas101 (557), Fargo, North Dakota, USA

Pours a deep amber colour, thin head, very hoppy aroma that does not follow through to the flavor. A good beer, but perhaps not as good as the Mac’s Copperhop for hops lovers. omhper (12180), Stockholm, Sweden

Medium sweet with fairly light body and clean mouthfeel. Vague notes of paper. Grassy hops and licorice dominate the finish. winkle (453), Brisbane, Australia
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 12, 2005 Bottled: Big hoppy nose followed by dominate hop flavours and finishing with a bigish bitter finish. IBUs must be up around 35. There is some malt for balance - not a bad hoppy bitter. It will appeal to those who like strong hoppy flavours underlaid by a very rich malt. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 1, 2005 Reddish copper colour, thin white head. Spicy/woody hop aroma, some caramel. Flavour is quite hoppy. Woody goldings come through on the palate with a long moderately bitter finish. TheGrandMaster (1857), Auckland, New Zealand
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 25, 2005 From tap at brewery pub. Brown-red colour with a small head. Hoppy aroma with hints of blackcurrent. The taste didn’t quite live up to the aroma though. Quite malty, I got (burnt) caramal flavours. But was also very carbonated, but maybe that is more the pub’s fault (but it is at the brewery). Not bad, but there is better in NZ of its kind.
