Feb 7, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Clear, amber golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving some lacing. Fresh, citrusy nose. A little thin in the body with flavours of caramel and nuts, but never sweet. Dry finish with a light touch of hops. Very well made actually. 290108

Feb 9, 2006 <i>Draught at Smuggler’s, Nelson. </i> Clear brownish amber. Light mangolike hop aroma. Medium sweet with fairly light body and clean mouthfeel. Vague notes of paper. Grassy hops and licorice dominate the finish.

Jan 13, 2004 very flavoursome amber ale. nougat and peanut shell aroma. full in the mouth, some nougat sweetness and pineapple. this place is well worth a visit, i just wish i could have spent more than 15 minutes there

Aug 1, 2005 Reddish copper colour, thin white head. Spicy/woody hop aroma, some caramel. Flavour is quite hoppy. Woody goldings come through on the palate with a long moderately bitter finish.

Apr 4, 2008 Draught at Macs Brewbar, Wellington, New Zealand. Reddish brown beer with a malty and lightly roasted aroma. The flavour is well hopped and toffee. Overall a reasonable hopped and bitter beer.
