RichardGretton (2682), Leicestershire, England Apr 6, 2008 Bottle in New Zealand. Amber beer with a watery aroma and a malty flavour with a bitter finish. Overall a poor malty beer. yalnikim (666), Wellington, New Zealand Mar 13, 2008 Tasted 31/01/2008. A generous gift, from papsoe’s tasting tray at Shed 22. Boring! This beer lacks everything that makes beer interesting. I’m always surprised that this beer received gold at BrewNZ - as it has fairly significant hint more bubblegum to it. I guess "very low yeasty aromas and flavours" is a subjective thing. I’ll admit I’m deducting overall points for what it is: a well-made commercial crock of shit. That’s the beauty of ratebeer - it’s 100% subjective. Papsoe (10510), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 7, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Clear, golden with a white head leaving some laces. Lightly malty nose. Thin and watery body with light touches of malt, a little metallic and a very dry and lightly bitter finish. With most of the carbohydrates gone a lot of the fun is gone also. Drinkable though. 290108 NoiZe (947), Zeist, Netherlands Jan 16, 2008 I’ve had this one in New Zealand on my honeymoon.
Clear golden colored brew. I didn’t like this one. TheGrandMaster (1492), Auckland, New Zealand Nov 21, 2007 Draught, a clear gold with a filmy head. A not unpleasant hop aroma, with some soft fruity notes. A good malty palate, though the graininess increases through the swallow, overtaking the grassiness and citrus touch of the hops, and becoming more dry (but still crisp).
