Commercial Description:
There are a million reasons to enjoy a lower carbohydrate lager, but not one for drinking lousy beer. That is why Mac's has gone overboard on Spring Tide. We've allowed the completely organic malts to linger in the mash twice as long as other beers, and keeping with the whole naturally-brewed vibe, no enzymes are added. You'll enjoy the predictably clean, dry taste and the upredictably bitter finish of Spring Tide. While the general throttling back on carbohydrates should offer its own sense of satisfaction.

Flat head and diluted water. Not much to say about it on the plus side at all. Vegemite and chemical tastes in the end. Foul.

Bottle. Low carbs are not my thing. Aroma is very light hops. Taste is also light, on the sweet side. Yellow colour, with a head that doesn’t last.

A poster child for bland, characterless ber if I ever saw one. Slighty sweet and sticky adjuncts drive the flavour and the finish is as per your standard industrial pale lager that might call itself a bitter. Might work ok in summer but frankly I’m suprised Macs have produced a beer that is some unremarkable.

Pale yellow body with non lasting head. Aroma wasn’t that flash, cardboard. Taste is not as bad but not a lot there, a little grainy and a little else.

On tap at the brewery bar. Pours pale golden, thin white head. Grainy thin aroma, reminds me of cheap lager. Flavour is thin too. Grainy and a faint hop flavour, almost no bitterness. I guess if all you care about are carbs you could drink it, but if you want flavour, avoid.

330ml bottle. Pours crips, clear and sparkling. Amber in colour with lots of bubbles that cling to the side of the glass. No head at all. Bland and nondescript aroma of malt with not a lot of taste. Dry finish that feels okay in the mouth. Yeyt another dissapointing low carb beer.

Draught at Mac’s Brewbar, Auckland. Clear golden with a small white head. Sweet malt with some fruity notes. Thin-medium bodied with moderate bitterness.
