RichardGretton (2681), Leicestershire, England Apr 4, 2008 Bottle at a Macs tied restaurant in Christchurch, New Zealand. Golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is mildy hopped and quite ginger, and the flavour is ginger beerish and bitter. Overall an average beer with a distinct ginger flavour. yalnikim (664), Wellington, New Zealand Mar 13, 2008 Tasted 28/02/2008. 330ml bottle from New World, Carterton. Pale gold with a tight white head that slowly fades. Mini-Emersons Pilsner on the nose - clean malt character, a little bit of citrus zest and lychee in the hop. Clean and medium sweet in the mouth, with just a shade of hop flavour. Light-medium weight and medium carbonation. A little flutter of riwaka and a lemongrass bite in the finish. Pretty drinkable, and far better than the candy-beer that is Monteith’s Summer Ale. The inital bottle run of these beers seemed to have lost all the hop and lemongrass - and was awful - but this second lot seemed a lot better. Certainly a better beer the times I tried it on tap. sunevdj (1482), Copenhagen OE, Denmark Feb 17, 2008 Pours a clear pale yellow with a white head. Sweet with citrusy aromas. Has a nice underlying bitterness. Medium carbonation. Lemongrass? Short finish with lemon. Nice and fresh. Papsoe (10446), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 11, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yalnikim. Clear, pale golden with a tall, pretty, dense, white head. Fresh and fruity aroma with some fruit bubblegum. Medium body with a very soft mouthfeel and lightly sweet fruit notes. No real hop feel. 310108 bozoNZ (370), Christchurch, New Zealand Jan 27, 2008 330ml bottle. Pours with a good lively white head. Clear straw yellow. Initial aromas was bready with a slight pine touch but on settling it develops with a touch of lemon. Undercarbonated mouthfeel given the head but the palate while clean and moderately dry is short leaving with a watery dryness and faint winey finish. Definately a thirst quenching summer quaffer.
