I hate to admit it but he had something to talk about. This is an excellent amber ale and a proud representative of the Northwest coast brewing tradition. scrizzz (1276), kirkland, Washington, USA

Wow, I used to drink the shit out of this beer 15 or so years ago. And I sort of drank beer then, but evidently not as attentively as I might have. Pours light coppery amber with a slim off-white rim and solid sheets of lace most of the way down. Neutral nose, not much happening. Medium body, a little bit of graininess. Lemon, toast, and some light peppery hop for the mid-palate. Lightly peppery finish. BelgianBeerGal (1290), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 17, 2007 bottle - Pours light amber with a mild hops aroma. The flavor is of caramel malt and mild to moderate hops. It has a lingering bitter finish. This beer isn’t bad for a session brew, but it’s not very crisp or interesting either. thefederalist (226), Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 9, 2007 Bottle. Pours a hazy amber, medium head. Nice hoppy aroma. Flavor is mild and very slightly sweet but with some major hop bitterness (for an amber). This tastes like an average amber mixed 5 to 1 with Stone Ruination IIPA. Very nice amber. riversideAK (2727), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 5, 2007 Hoppy citrus aroma with a little bit of caramel malt. Amber in color. A nice mild citrus flavor on this one balanced by a little bit of caramel malt.I found this to be more of a hoppy amber ale. Is rather thin. Has a crisp dry finish. This would be perfect for session drinking. MadMan (497), Tempe, Arizona, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 4, 2007 Bottle. Listed as MacTarnahan’s scottish style amber ale. Pours a darker amber with quickly disapearing white head. Aroma of carmel malt. Flavor is lightly sweet with a heavy dose of caramel malt and lightly bitter with some floral type hoppiness. Finish has a lightly sweet breadiness followed by the light bitterness. Soft and fizzy and a touch thin, but has that great finish going for it.
