Pours a darker amber with quickly disapearing white head. Aroma of carmel malt. Flavor is lightly sweet with a heavy dose of caramel malt and lightly bitter with some floral type hoppiness. Finish has a lightly sweet breadiness followed by the light bitterness. Soft and fizzy and a touch thin, but has that great finish going for it. AgentSteve (1378), SF Bay Area, California, USA

A nice citric hop and caramel aroma combo which leans towards the malt end of the spectrum. A bit of a woody note in there too. Medium to light bodied with some nice prickly bitterness. Balanced and fairly light flavors of caramel malts, tempered by some more citrus, black pepper, and mild wood flavors. Well crafted and not nearly as sweet as other ambers. A nice surprise. ndubs360 (114), portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 22, 2007 This is a standard at my apartment. Its cheap too. Pours a hazy golden color which quickly turns clear. Smell is of strong hops, than sweet malts. The hops hit first and hard which makes me believe that this should be labeled a pale ale instead of an amber. But the malts come in and finish off nicely and the name is not in vein. . finishes good. cheapdark (2037), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Aug 22, 2007 Attractive darker than pale yellow color, just barely. Thin froth head also barely there. Has a perfumy orangy aroma of sorts. Malty and seems to have more alky than is listed here. Nice creamy welcomed carbonation. Thick and coats the mouth. Has some hop medicinal bitterness on the finish that hangs for a while. LinusStick (1848), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 21, 2007 This is a perfectly balanced amber. Aroma of hops with a slight hint of malt. Pour was a dark amber with a one finger white head. The taste was at first hoppy. Almost to the point of an American pale ale. Malt and caramel flirt in and out in the finish. Nice carbonation and a mouthfeel that, while a little thin, makes the beer very easy to drink. zebracakes (1216), Washington DC, USA
