| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 2, 2006 An amber color with a moderate beige head. A nice floral and orange peel aroma similar to an IPA. The flavor is slightly bitter with a good malt profile. There are some vanilla, orange, and grapefruit tastes present. A well done amber ale and one I may return to for a session 6er sometime. benpickens (144), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 27, 2006 AMber with a small light frothy head and slight carbonation. Smells of toffee and bread. Sweet malty flavor with a hoppy finish. Crisp with a long dry finish. greenhorn1 (462), Mission Viejo, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2006 22 oz bottle. Pours a nice copper hue with a big head that dissipates quickly. There is some lacing left behind. Not much to the aroma, faint hint of flowers and citrus. Flavor is pretty dissapointing, citrus and carmel notes hit first but followed immediately by a bitter metallic taste. I bought the bottle for a $1.99 on sale... not worth a penny more. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 12/20 | Aug 30, 2006 Updated: Oct 27, 2006Mac’s ale in the pictured green bottle is poor- I rate it here as 2.5 but I had something from same brewer that was an amber that is good-- I rated it 3.6 very high rating for an amber, well hopped, but do not see it under this brewer. Here is review for their true amber:
Wow, I think this is underrated. Amber ales always seem to leave me unimpressed but this one was dry, fruity, smooth, crisp, balanced. Nice. nimbleprop (941), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
