Commercial Description:
Rich, amber hue and full-bodied flavor begin with roasted, domestic caramel malt. It’s sweetness is then tempered with genuine Cascade hops, which are added again at the end of the boil for a distinctive, citric-floral aroma.

Canned version brewed/canned by <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Ratings/Beer/ShowBrewer.asp?BrewerID=721>Pacific Western Brewing.

22 OZ BOTTLE. Good size head, dissipates doen quickly but retains a solid 1" head after a few minutes. Clear amber color. Not much going on in the smell dept. A bit of lemony aroma. Decent taste, pretty smooth and well balanced. Body is too light. Fairly hoppy aftertaste that leaves quickly. Eehhh. Average.

Golden, not too carbonated at all. Very pleasant aroma, a bit herbal, a bit fruity. This contrast is also present in the first few sips. Not as smooth as I had hoped, but still not too bad. I liked it.

Bottle from Brewdad for update; Nose is caramel malts and piney hops; pale amber color with a small white head; flavor shows maltiness with a light hop finish.

Loose bottle from Sam’s Wines, Downers Grove. Nice pour, cloudy with bubbles at first, then they retreat to a thick head over an amber beer. Smell has some rich toffee malts and a hint of raisin. Taste is somewhat chewy, but very drinkable. Hints of smoke and maybe some lactic. Plenty more Scottish character than a plain ol’ amber. Late hops make their presence known, too.

Light amber color with a beige head. Aroma of caramel malt and piney hops. Flavor of rye malt and hops. Drinkable.
