Commercial Description:
Rich, amber hue and full-bodied flavor begin with roasted, domestic caramel malt. It’s sweetness is then tempered with genuine Cascade hops, which are added again at the end of the boil for a distinctive, citric-floral aroma.

Canned version brewed/canned by <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Ratings/Beer/ShowBrewer.asp?BrewerID=721>Pacific Western Brewing.

Decent for an amber, but otherwise weak and boring. Lots of caramel malts with a little balance from faint hops. Lightly sweet, but not too much. Needs something else to be good at all. A little watery and thin. Not terrible, fairly drinkable.

Clear golden with a fizzy white head. Simple clean sweet malt aroma. Fairly well balanced taste with evident hop bitterness and a clean finish.

First off, kudos to Mac’s for the adult-size bottle, a very good thing in a beer you like but not the best for a dud; good thing I liked this one. Pouring a modest two fingers of a foamy tan head above an excellent clear amber body, a small bit of lacing eventually arrived. Aroma was a nice maltiness and so is the taste. Mouthfeel was a lil’ bit sharp to start but overall taste and mouthfeel were pleasant and clean, with some malt and hop. Aftertaste was, how can I say it, ’calming’ perhaps?

Draft at the alehouse in Walnut Creek. A dark golden (more than amber) beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, elderflowery hops, and some caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of elderflowers, malt, and caramel, leading to medium bitter finish.

12 oz. bottle. Shared with Peter. Pours a thin head, poor duration, extensive lacing, over a clear, dark golden body.....nose of toffee honey, bit of bread.....taste is sweetish malts to start rotating to mild hop bitterness.....mouth feel is fairly light, carbonation good. A pleasant amber, quite typical of the style.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear amber color with a medium frothy off white head that leves behind good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a fruity malt with floral and lemon zest. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet grain taste with lemon and citrus with a bitter finish. A good amber ale from PBC.
