Skyview (2641), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 11, 2008 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Three Cellars in St Francis, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that laves behind a film top. Very little lacing if any. Aroma of a good balance of grassy hops, caramel malt, a touch of pear and some citrus zest. Taste is medium bodied, plenty of carbonation with flavors of caramel malt and some light citrus zest. Finish is slightly metallic with a mild hop bitterness aftertaste that quickly disappears.
zombywoof (265), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Jul 7, 2008 This seems a little more citrusy and piney than some ambers I’ve had. Moderate toffee and caramel. A pleasant amber ale, but then again isn’t that what most amber ales aspire to...pleasantness? God, I’m getting jaded. spikester (338), Salem, Oregon, USA Jul 3, 2008 Nice amber hue with an off-white head of about one inch. Some lacing. Good floral hop aroma.
Taste is sweet malts with just a kiss of Cascade hops. A little watery but it is an Amber. Probably the most user-friendly Amber Ale on the market. Would be a nice transition beer for the macro crowd. Very nice. phishpond417 (1110), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 29, 2008 Great beer all around! light copper colour, medium sized but fluffy white head. aroma is well roasted malts, slightly hopped and touch of walnuts. taste is full but curiously delightful leaving you with a yearning of wanting more. nice beer. :) Naven (682), San Diego, California, USA Jun 18, 2008 Bottle, via Bitbucket. Nice, light amber color. Very light aroma of hops and caramel. Flavor is actually quite nice. Lightly hopped with some decent maltiness. Very easy to drink and quite refreshing. Nothing revolutionary here, but this is going down well on this 90 degree afternoon. SpudClampDawg (888), Jasper, Indiana, USA Jun 10, 2008 12oz bottle: Crystal clear amber pour with a thin cap that sticks around. The aroma offers sweet caramel maltiness with a nice touch of sweet orange hops. The body seems a bit watery. A nice rindy bitterness leads the charge, with some buttery toffee and honey peaking through. The Cascades are the real plus here - fresh tasting with notes of candied orange and pink grapefruit. A nice enough beer, but a bit more caramel malt would definitely be welcomed.
