Smell is roasted chocolate and coffee. Taste is sweet, malty, and rich. Some coffee and some creaminess (is that a word?) reminded me of some kind of porter from a nitro can. Not bad. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 14, 2006 Very creamy in both the aroma and the taste. However, I think the cream went too far..... almost outta control! Thick taste, but very thin in the mouth. I think it was a bit too carbonated too..... I feel like I’m drinking a porter that has been mixed with cream soda. I definitely won’t be getting this one again. schwaiger (90), Laramie, Wyoming, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 12, 2006 12 oz. bottle. Poured a deep black with a large, creamy, mostly lasting khaki head; good lacing. Moderate to heavily malty aroma, roasted notes, coffee, some metal. Light to moderately bitter with a moderately bitter, somewhat salty finish of dark roast coffee beans and barley. More metal in the taste - like copper - some malted chocolate. A tad thin, but not watery. Smooth texture. bikesandbeers (468), Los Angeles, California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 26, 2006 Bottle. Pours amber-black with small, bubbly beige head. The aroma is roasty cold coffee, some caramel, and a hint of pecan. The flavor is nice and "dirty", with lots of toasty and charred notes. There is some more cold coffee, and some hop-bite. The finish is pine tar and earth. Somewhat fizzy mouthfeel. NachlamSie (1644), Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 1, 2006 Updated: Oct 17, 2008bottle. Pours rather black with a good, firm tan head. The aroma is of coffee, chocolate, a little creamy sweetness. Goes down smoothly with plenty of chocolate, light coffee. It is rather English in its attitude, but has adequate cajones to not be boring. There’s a bit of sourness in the finish. Decent.

Bottle. Pours near black with a very frothy, appealing head. The aroma is slightly sour with hints of smoke, licorice, and ash. I can tell this is an English leaning porter. The flavor has pleasing notes of burned brownies, dark chocolate, wood, earth, vanilla wafers, and toffee. This is a pretty darn good porter. I’d buy it again.
