This is a really good porter! Nice balance between roastiness, malt and hops! Great beer!

Black Coloring with Tan Head. Rich Roasted Malt and Cardboard Aroma. Sweet Malt, Creamy Mouthfeel...Wet Cardboard Taste Not as Bad as the Aroma, But Present Enough to Stop a Guy From Drinking it Twice.

Black color with a thin head. Uh oh... kind of a stale malt aroma. Not a good lead in to... Augh! It tastes like construction paper left in a full rain ditch for a week in August! Gross.

Black shot with a deep burnt caramel color, creamy beige head dissipates quickly, strong aroma of coffee, smoke, deeply roasted malt. The flavor is lighter than the aroma suggests but has the promised smooth silky creaminess along with smoke and coffee and an understated bitter twang on the finish. Light-bodied for a porter, a surificial smoke-and-roasted-malt show that dissipates as quickly as the head. But that makes it nicely drinkable, dare I say "less filling"? (o.k., I take that back, really I do)

I have to refute the "unforgettable rich taste" in the commercial description. I found the taste to be highly forgettable. A completely respectable, if not outstanding, porter. I’d drink it again if offered (or if in a bar with limited choices), but wouldn’t seek it out.

Pours a very dark brown with brown head. Chocolate aroma, as well as caramel. Sweet taste with notes of caramel, chocolate, and roasted malts.

typical porter app...dark brown, almost black body with medium sized light brown head...aroma is very smokey, and is dominated by bitter coffee and chocolate, and you can say the same with the flavors (plus a hint of cream and nuts)....smooth palate

Poured a very dark black (so they weren’t lying about the color). Definite aroma of chocolate and coffee backed up by a definite flavor of chocolate and coffee. Very heavy, but perhaps too bitter. This beer is very flavorful and should make any fan of a porter happy but it’s a little too overpowering for my tastes.
