Aroma has some roasted grain, light cocoa and coffee. Very muted overall. Flavor much the same with a little bitterness in the finish from the coffee, in a good way though. I’m not a porter fan in general, but this is decent. IndianaRed (1560), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 22, 2005 Bottle Pours a very dark brown with a full cramy light tan head and lots of heavy lacing. Sweet dark roasted malts. Chocolate and a touch of coffee. Flavor was more coffee and a nce smokiness. Slightly sour like most porters but yes, a very nice smooth creamy feel. Lingering bitter smoky flavor. CaptKirk (175), Hephzibah, Georgia, USA

Holding this pint to the light you will notice an orange hue that has a dark center. Very smooth with a smoky, coffee taste that ended just a hair bitter. I really enjoyed this one after the meal relaxing. One of my favorites from this brewpub and worth a try if there. Goldorak (439), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 17, 2005 Labelled as Bourbon cask aged 2003 vintage.
Just a veil of brownish hues surrounding the darkness and a faint crown on top.
High cocoa powder percentage black chocolate, but with a just a bit of lactic twang.
A lactic, acidic feeling at first, then a bit of wood and bourbon, a little coffee and a smudge of bitter hops in the end. A little thin on the malt though, sometimes the tradeoff of boozy wood for malt backbone is too much of a price to pay. BrewDad (2370), Olympia, Washington, USA

It has been a hile and I saw it in the store. Great Dark Borwn pour with a great head. Nice overall malty body with a full flavor. Good Job Mac’s mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
