Smells are all subdued: Chocolate, some coffee, and not much else going on.
Taste mild chocolate, and coffee, rather mild for this style. There’s a very thin mouthfeel to this beer that is not very satisfying.
There’s just not that much going on with this beer. Smell does get slightly better as it gets warmer, but that’s about it. Drinkabilty is decent due to the fact that the flavors are mild, and there’s very little bitterness present.

Very one dimensional. I dont taste the cream or the porter. The flavor is very subtle and undistinguishable. Dis brewskie is pooskie. SledgeJr (3004), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Pours black with a sepia brown head consisting of flat-out enormous bubbles. Chocolate aroma. Head dies rather quick. Mild carbonation. Body is a little watery, but has a fine sweet and hop-balanced flavor. First drink was a little bit metallic, but that sensation is lost quickly into the beer. csbosox (1085), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA

Pours dark brown, nearly black with a khaki head and some floaties. Aroma is roasty, it seems one-dimensional, just roasty malt. Taste is sweet, roasty, coffee. The mouthfeel is a bit thin. raymow (738), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 31, 2005 Not as good as I thought it would be. I guess I’d say it was "smooth" but it was also lacking something. It almost tasted a bit artificial, like the ingredients weren’t top quality or something. 11026 (1772), Alabama, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 29, 2005 Bottle. Pours a deep black color, no light penetration. Nice light brown head formation that settles and leaves good lacing. Aroma is lightly chocolateand something I can’t place. Medium bodied, smooth palate, medium to low carbonation which helps increase perception of creaminess. Flavor runs towards light chocolate and Slight nuts. Really rather bland, a bit of a letdown. I can’t place what is going on but something is lacking. dwyerpg (2553), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 5/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Aug 29, 2005 This smells, oh whats the word? Ah, horrendous. And the tate matches the aroma. I would say this tastes more like a nasty Natty than any porter I’ve had, and while it gets slightly better as it warms, its still bad enough that I’m saving it for someone else to finish. bb (2941), Martinez, California, USA
