This is a very, very delicious beer. One of my favorites. If youre a stout/porter drinker such as myself, then you will probably love this 1FastSTi (2560), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 2, 2005 Appearance was a dark black color that didn’t permit light to penetrate. It had a thick, lacy, bubbly head with a caramel color. The aroma was full, with caramel, molasses, sorghum, and cream. The palate was creamy and thick. It tasted like molasses with a light hop aftertaste. Also had hints of cream and walnut. It was mildly sweet and definitely a porter. Jine (896), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 1, 2005 Pretty good porter. After having a couple McSorley’s beers earlier, I was wary of anything sounding vaguely Scots. However this is nice. I like coffee and roastiness and this has both. giarcsr (103), Carlsbad, California, USA

It has a nice creamy malt/chocolate/slight hint of coffee taste to it that is really smooth and easy to drink. This is a pretty solid beer, there are a few areas that are lacking and could use some work, but overall this is a good beer to drink from the bottle and just enjoy. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2004 Pouring out black with a good, light brown head, this porter carries a strong roasted malt and chocolate aroma. I found it to be just a bit watery in the mouth. The taste, tho’, is a nice, smokey roat malt with chocolate and coffee skillfully blended in. It’s got a smooth finish, as advertised. gsteph (264), knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 15, 2004 Opaque black body, thick dark tan head. Sticky lace. Coffee, chocolate, raw oatmeal, and roasty. Coffee and chocolate are the predominant flavors. Smoke and caramel as well. Flavors are blended nicely. Sharp up front and through the middle hop bite. Fades into a semi-sweet toffee finish. Good consistency and very smooth. A touch on the thin side. Very drinkable and well made. Odeed (1675), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 10, 2004 Pour is a deep, dark black with a tan head. Aroma is nice and roasted. Flavor is your typical chocolate and toasty malts but with a silky smootyness to it. A very nice attempt at this style.
