| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 8, 2004 Thick, thick black pour with a full tan head. Aroma is full of robust coffee, port, and burbon. It is a smooth aroma. There are strong coffee, chocolate, and vanilla tastes as well as some burbon and a little bitterness. Overall it is a very smooth and well built beer. Very drinkable and fairly complex. NobleSquirrel (1120), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Dec 4, 2004 strong chocolate and coffee with dust smell. Quite nice. Looks awesome, dark tan head over a deep body. Initial taste is very weird. Body is quite thin. Initial acidity on the tongue, followed by coffee and chocolate. Very drinkable. Pretty good, though too thin for me. allphoto (36), Oakland, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 29, 2004 Strong initial sour mash flavor. Late breaking head that dissipates slowly. The color is impenetrable. The dark malt and coffee flavors mingle with the bourbon taste that floats on the tip of my tongue for the length of the beer. This is (for me ) a once in a while beer. Not quite to my tastes, to make it into the regular rotation. Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 19, 2004 Inviting aroma dark, dry roasted malt with brown sugar sweetness. Dry roasty flavor with a bit of that same sweetness and an even smaller touch of porter tartness in the finish. It is a bit thin as others here have said but it’s a good one. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 19, 2004 Scent was of malted hops and a hint of citrus acidicness.. the color was a dark brown w/ tiny tan head... the palate was smooth but not the creamy sensation I was hoping for... I thought the flavor was much to bland for a porter... I really expected more from it.. this beer wont get a good rating from me because of this but it wansn’t a bad beer.
