Smells like chocolate and coffee. Malty that with a sticky taste of chocolate, caramel, nuts and coffee. Not as roasted as other porters but rich and smooth. Definately creamy definately good. wunderbier (1267), Tampere, Finland

Deep black body with a deep brown head. Heavily sweet flavor becomes a moderately sweet, lightly bitter finish. A nice absence of acidity. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. The bottom line is: Tasty! Could use a little more body though. Kåstå (1149), Mol, Belgium

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 27, 2004 This brew was decent. Much akin...I think... to the St. Peter’s Old style porter but perhaps a bit more palatable. Pours a dark black color with a nice tan head. Nose is of chocolate, strawberries, roasted peppers. Palate is a tad watery i must confess. Taste is bitter but more from the roastedness of the hops than the malt. Not bad. Certainly not the Anchor porter.

Watery, some roastiness, fairly sweet, some bitterness. 5 3 6 3 11 RERATE 4/08: No change in my impression, but a slightly more generous set of numbers. slimweebs (140), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Had a nice sweet flavor, but the texture was a bit watery. I thought this was a nice beer overall. If it were a little thicker and had a little stronger flavor, it’d be an outstanding beer. fly (1332), austin, Tejas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 17, 2004 Long time since I did my cut and paste rating game. What’s involved? Well, I have a beer like this that is okay, but doesn’t leave a strong and lasting impression and I randomly choose words from other ratings to form my own. So here goes: This brewery very dark, black with hints exceptional. Head is initially slightly whipped cream unidimensional dry malt and chocolate. compared to most rather limp and watery origigal comments it is remarkably Nutty. Not remotely as tired, for lack of a better word Reminds me of the taste cigarette smoke. still too much fizz and Sea Ranch, with a roasty alcoholic. Wish I had more tingly mouthfeel. Nice dark blackish, fairly transparent, totally awesome for beginners who are new to the style.
