| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 5, 2004 Dark brown in color, with a light brown head. Little tiny bubbles of carbination also was pretty. Milk chocolate aroma, as well as carmel. Sweet taste with notes of carmel, chocolate, and roasty goodness. Interesting overall beer, and so very easy to drink. matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 4, 2004 I was surprised to find this beer in stores here around town; I didn’t think it was distributed down here!?
A dark black body with gleaming crimson edges; atop, a fluffy caramel head sits high and mighty. The aroma is whipped cream, coco, oats and touch of cappuccino. Not remotely as much toasty, smoky chocolate malt as I was expecting here. A bit like cream soda, touch of vanilla and white chocolate. The palate is medium, good creamy mouth-feel, a toasty pumpernickel finish.
A tasty but ordinary porter. Silphium (2137), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 3, 2004 Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is slightly lactic with some roast and a touch of hops. Not a "distinctive new style" of porter but the flavor profile is interesting- there are notes of fruit and licorice along with dry grain and chalky oatmeal. I wouldn't call this "creamy" but I enjoy the flavor and agree this isn't run-of-the-mill. Thanks Jim (flemdawg) for the bottle! possumjc (100), Charleston - Mt Pleasant, South Carolina, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 1, 2004 Aroma: smells of flowers and cream. slight scent of chocolate malts.
Appearance: very dark brown with light tan head.
Flavor: weak bittersweet chocolate flavor with slight scotch flavor. watery tastes, no strong burst of flavors like the Black Watch Bourbon Barrel Aged Porter.
Palate: very weak, watery on the tongue. slight tingling in the front of the mouth, followed by a weak tinge in the back upon swallowing. slight semi-sweet bitterness aftertaste.
Overall: compared to the Bourbon Aged Porter not very good--prefer to drink their other beer. hershiser2 (914), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

VERY deep brown, amber highlights. Inch high fluffy head. Retains well.
Very average smell. Slightly caramel, slightly chocolate. Pretty ordinary.
Pretty average taste as well. Very cold-coffee, with hints of chocolate- but also pretty weak, leaving me desiring for more (not of this beer- but more flavor).
Nice, creamy mouthfeel.
This is a drinkable beer- because it's not bad. But it's very ordianry in the flavor and smell, so it kinda defeats the purpose of seeking out a good beer. Have this one if, by some strange chance, a BUD drinking bar serves this as their single oddball selection. blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA
